My Puppy Did It!

Mommy and Daddy uncovered a spill on the rug.
Some kind of juice that most likely had stained.
"It wasn't me, my puppy did it",
Their wide eyed little girl explained.

Mommy and Daddy noticed toys scattered about.
Instead of being picked up and put away.
"It wasn't me, my puppy did it",
Their little girl said while she continued to play.

Mommy and Daddy found a mess in the kitchen.
Candy and wrappers all over the place.
"It wasn't me, my puppy did it",
Their little girl smiled with chocolate on her face.

Mommy and Daddy saw paintings on the wall.
They hoped that someone would confess.
"It wasn't me, my puppy did it",
Their little girl blamed in her paint stained dress.

Mommy and Daddy discovered a messy bathroom.
Bath toys and bubbles where the water did flow.
"It wasn't me, my puppy did it",
Their little girl stated soaked from head to toe.

Mommy and Daddy watched a tired little girl.
Trying her best to keep her eyes open.
"I'm not tired, but my puppy is",
Their little girl whispered while dozing off again.
